# IX - Data Deletion

You may ask us to delete PII we hold about you at any time. What you need to do depends on whose data it is and who acts as its Data Controller, as explained in II - Data Controller and Data Processor.

### Account Data

If you hold an account with us as an Owner, Manager, Member, or Engager, you may ask us to delete your Account Data. Write to us at <hello@hubble.vote> from the e-mail address on the account. If you write from a different address, we will ask you to verify that the account is yours. We will delete your name, contact details, profile image, login details, and your activity records, and we will confirm by e-mail once this is done.

An Owner or Manager may also remove you from their Universe from within the Platform. Doing so ends your access to that Universe but does not delete your account, so write to us as well if you want your Account Data deleted.

### Closing your account from the mobile application

You may close your account from the Hubble application for iPhone, iPad, and Mac without contacting us first:

1. Open the application and sign in.
2. Select Profile from the tab bar, or from the sidebar on iPad and Mac.
3. In the Danger Zone section, select Deactivate Account.
4. Enter your password, select Deactivate Account, and confirm.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Closing your account cannot be undone.
{% endhint %}

Closing your account takes effect immediately. It signs you out on every device, revokes the application's access tokens, ends push notifications, and erases the turfs, visits, survey answers, and contact records held on your device. Removing the application from your device also deletes that local copy.

Closing your account ends all access to it. To also have your Account Data erased from our systems, write to <hello@hubble.vote> once you have closed it and we will delete it and confirm. If you are the Owner of a Universe, this may take longer, because ownership has to be transferred or the Universe closed first.

### Universe data

Owners are the Data Controller of their Managers', Members', and Engagers' PII. An Owner may ask us to delete their Universe and everything held under it, including Member and Engager records, communications, financial records, and uploaded files. Write to <hello@hubble.vote> from an account with Owner access. We will confirm the request before acting on it, because deleting a Universe also destroys records the Owner may be required by law to retain.

### PII held by a Universe you engage with

Where an Owner uses the Platform to hold PII about you as a Member or Engager, that Owner is the Data Controller of it. They determine what is collected and how long it is kept. We process it on their behalf and only on their instructions, and we do not delete it on our own initiative.

Address your request to that Owner directly. We will carry out the deletion once they instruct us to. If you are not certain which Universe holds your PII, write to <hello@hubble.vote> and we will help you identify it.

### Connected social accounts

Where an Owner or Manager has connected a social media account to their Universe, currently a Facebook Page, we store the Page's identifier, the Page's name, the permissions the platform granted, the date of the connection, the Manager who made it, and an encrypted access token that authorizes us to publish the posts scheduled in the Universe. We do not collect your social media profile, your friends or followers, your e-mail address held by that platform, your private messages, your advertising accounts, or any data about the people who follow or interact with the Page.

To delete this data:

1. Sign in to the Platform and open Communication, then Shares.
2. Select the connected Facebook Page and choose Disconnect.

Disconnecting deletes the stored access token immediately and ends our ability to publish to the Page. Posts already published remain on the Page, and may be removed there. We retain our own record of what was published and to which Page; write to <hello@hubble.vote> if you want that record deleted as well.

You may also revoke our access from the platform's own settings. In Facebook, open Settings & Privacy, then Settings, then Apps and Websites, select Hubble, and remove it. This ends our access in the same way.

### What happens once we delete

We remove the data from our live systems when we act on your request, and in any event no later than 30 days afterwards. Copies may remain in our encrypted backups for up to \[30] days beyond that, until the ordinary backup rotation overwrites them. We do not restore deleted data from a backup except where required to recover the Services following a failure.

We may retain certain data after a deletion request where the law requires it, including campaign finance records an Owner is obliged to retain and report, and data we need in order to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements. Where this applies to your request, we will tell you what was retained and why.

If you have any questions about deleting your data, please contact us at <hello@hubble.vote>.
